The chest patch is an image that was used by the 85th Bomb Squadron, a squadron that conducted missions in North Africa and the Mediterranean, and the painting on the back pays homage to the nose art on the B-29 "Little Gem", flown by the 497th Bombardment Group, itself an image cribbed from the Peruvian-American artist Alberto Vargas.
